    Jos,

    Make sure you check for Sidewinders if it has warmed up. I remember sleeping on the beach the first night down there. The second night I was on a cot because of the abundance of Sidewinder tracks in the sand all around me. The Scorpions also like to bury themselves in the sand. Just a couple more things to look out for besides the trucks, bandits and potholes you mentioned.

    Besides all that it looks like you’re having a great time.

    • I didn’t see any sidewinders, but there are definitely plenty of scorpions. One time, I lifted my cooler (then functioning as coffee table) and there was one under it. Everyone sitting around the cooler was all of a a sudden sitting with their feet in the air…
