Isn’t that a chipmunk? Or perhaps a pika? What was your elevation, roughly?

It’s actually a ground squirrel which does look similar to a chipmunk. On the chipmunk the stripes run all the way on the body and tail, and I think a ground squirrel may be bigger too. Ptarmigan tunnel is just over 7k feet. Looks higher up huh?
